Mark was born in "Apolda" (Thueringen) in 1973. When he was 5 months old his parents moved to Bad Salzungen where Mark still lives and works. No matter if he played music with his family on Christmas or whether he was singing in the bath Mark always enjoyed singing.

When he was 13 years old he met composer Steffen Ehrhardt who was impressed by Mark's talent. It were Ashley's vocal range and the extraordinary clarity of his voice which inspired Steffen to write a song for him. Like all other young artists Mark Ashley had to begin in a small way: Office parties, parties for cities or performances in discotheques became fundamentals to his career. He did many shows since the beginning.

Each of Mark Ashley's appearances was successful, no matter if it was on TV or on radio. E.g.: "Dream of great emotion", the first MCD of the new "King of Disco Fox" (how he's entitled from time to time) reached # 19 of the BVD charts immediately.

Although his music resembles Modern Talking's a lot Mark's songs were composed before Modern Talking got reunited in 1998 again. The titles were drafted for him only.

As Modern Talking started their comeback successfully Mark's career begun, too. The reaction towards Mark were pretty positive and some radio station even dedicated small shows to him. We are sure that there's a lot more to come in the future. Keep at it, Mark! Best of luck!
